Commercial Ice Machine Size Finder

Estimate the daily ice-production capacity your venue should start comparing. Enter your peak daily demand, typical ice per serve and any extra kitchen or display use. The finder recommends an equipment capacity band—not accessories, installation components or service packages.

  • 1 Enter peak demand
  • 2 Add a realistic buffer
  • 3 Compare the recommended equipment range

Your venue and ice demand

Planning note: This finder provides a starting capacity estimate only. Actual production varies with manufacturer test conditions, inlet water temperature, ambient temperature, ventilation, water quality and installation. Storage-bin capacity and peak-service drawdown should be checked separately before ordering.

How to read your result

Production capacityThe amount of ice a machine can produce over 24 hours under stated test conditions.
Storage capacityThe amount of finished ice held ready for service. It is not the same as daily production.
Peak demandYour busiest realistic service period matters more than a quiet-day average when choosing capacity.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the finder add a buffer?

A buffer allows for warmer weather, busy periods, unexpected demand and real-world operating conditions. You can adjust it to suit your venue.

Does a larger storage bin mean the machine makes more ice?

No. Production and storage are separate specifications. A larger bin stores more finished ice but does not increase the machine's 24-hour production rating.

Should I size from average sales?

Use a realistic peak day or peak service. Average demand can undersize equipment for the periods when ice is most critical.

Does the finder recommend filters or installation parts?

No. The finder recommends an equipment capacity range only. Water filtration, drainage, electrical supply, ventilation and installation components should be confirmed for the selected model and site.
