Choose an Adande refrigerated drawer when its access, storage configuration and working height suit the station. Compare it with an undercounter cupboard fridge by the food you need close to hand, usable storage, door or drawer clearance and the exact equipment around it. Drawer refrigeration is one option within a kitchen plan, not an automatic replacement for every fridge.
A prep station can have enough total refrigerated storage and still be awkward to work at. The useful comparison starts with what staff need during service, how they reach it and where replenishment comes from.

How do refrigerated drawers differ from an undercounter fridge?
A drawer brings its stored containers forward when opened. A cupboard fridge provides access through a door to its internal shelving. Compare how your ingredients and containers fit, how much space the opening needs and whether staff can reach the required items without disrupting neighbouring work.
| Question | Refrigerated drawers | Undercounter cupboard fridge |
|---|---|---|
| What will you store? | Check drawer dimensions, dividers, container suitability and load limits. | Check shelf arrangement, container height and access to the rear. |
| How does it open? | Allow the full drawer travel and a working position for the operator. | Allow the door swing and access needed to load shelves. |
| How does it fit the station? | Confirm base, top, finished height, ventilation and any appliance above. | Confirm cabinet height, ventilation, worktop and door clearance. |
Neither format is universally better. A drawer may suit ingredients needed repeatedly at a preparation point; a cupboard may suit a different container mix or replenishment process. Check the actual arrangement using your containers and workstation dimensions.
Which Adande drawer format should you compare?
ICE Group’s current range includes the following configurations. Dimensions apply to the listed suffix, base and top. They should not be carried across to another version without checking the technical sheet.
- VCC1.GCW compact single drawer: 69L, 450 × 800 × 900mm, standard castors and solid worktop.
- VCS2.CW standard double drawer: 172L, 1100 × 700 × 900mm, standard castors and solid worktop.
- VLS1.CW slimline single drawer: 65L, 1100 × 700 × 444mm, standard castors and solid worktop.
Compare the Adande fridges and refrigerated-drawer range with the wider undercounter refrigeration range. A smaller litre figure may still be the useful option when a specific workstation height or footprint is the main constraint.
Can an Adande drawer operate as a fridge or freezer?
The three linked models are listed as dual-temperature equipment. Confirm the selected model’s settings, controls and required storage temperature for your ingredients. On a multi-drawer model, check how its controls apply to the individual drawers. A temperature-setting range does not remove the need to follow the food-storage requirements for the product being held.
What should you check before installation?
Measure the delivery route and workstation. Confirm drawer-opening clearance, ventilation, engine position, level installation, cleaning and service access. Check the top type, supporting arrangement and permitted loading for any equipment above the unit. Do not assume a solid worktop and a heatshield top are interchangeable.
For running costs, compare published or measured daily electricity use under comparable conditions. Connected load in kW is not a daily kWh figure. The Equipment Energy Calculator can compare the electricity component once suitable consumption data is available; keep installation and other operating costs in the wider assessment.
What makes a useful Adande fridge enquiry?
Send your required chilled or frozen storage, container sizes, available width and depth, finished height and the equipment planned above or beside the drawer. Add site photographs, power details, delivery access and the installation window.
Discuss your refrigerated-drawer shortlist with ICE Group. A model-specific quote gives the capacity and configuration comparison a practical next step.
